Terms of service
The ordinary terms, plus a safety section that is not boilerplate — some of what this site covers has real hazards attached.
Last updated: August 31, 2026
By using Draft & Door you accept these terms. The site publishes general information about draft sealing products, compiled from manufacturers' published specifications. It is not professional advice, and you are responsible for the work you carry out and for verifying that a part fits your situation.
What this site is
An independent publication about household draft sealing. We compile published manufacturer and retailer specifications, compare them, and match them to a gap you measure yourself. The method is set out in full on how we pick.
What this site is not
- Not a retailer. We sell nothing, ship nothing, take no payments and hold no stock. Every purchase happens on the retailer's own site under their terms.
- Not professional advice. Nothing here substitutes for a qualified contractor, electrician, HVAC technician or garage door professional.
- Not a testing service. We do not test products. We have said so on every page that recommends one, and we say it again here.
- Not a guarantee of fit. A published gap range is the manufacturer's figure, not a promise about your door.
DIY and safety
Some of what this site describes involves real hazards. Working around electrical boxes, garage door springs, gas appliances, ladders and attics all carry risk, and sealing a home can affect the air supply to combustion appliances.
- Switch off the circuit at the breaker before removing any electrical faceplate.
- Never work under an unsupported garage door, and never touch garage door springs. Those are under enough tension to cause serious injury and are a professional's job.
- Never block a combustion air supply or a deliberate vent. Fit a carbon monoxide alarm if you have any fuel-burning appliance.
- A self-closing fire-rated door must still close and latch after you weatherstrip it. If it does not, your seal is too thick.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for any product, which take precedence over anything written here.
You carry out any work described on this site at your own risk and are responsible for complying with the codes and regulations that apply where you live.
Accuracy
We take accuracy seriously and we still get things wrong. Product specifications change without notice, listings are edited, and manufacturers revise their published figures. Always check the current listing and the product's own packaging before buying or fitting. If you find an error, tell us — see editorial policy for how corrections are handled.
Prices
Prices shown on this site come from a live retailer feed and carry the date they were checked. They are indicative, not a quote, and the retailer's price at the moment of purchase is the only one that counts. Where we hold no live price we show "Check price" rather than a number.
Affiliate links
This site earns affiliate commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you, as described on affiliate disclosure. Your purchase is a contract between you and the retailer; we are not a party to it and cannot help with orders, delivery, returns or warranty claims.
Intellectual property
The text, structure and original tables on this site are the property of Draft & Door. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link. Republishing pages in whole or in substantial part, including by automated scraping for redistribution, is not permitted. Product names, brands and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Third-party links
We link to retailers and manufacturers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
The site and its content are provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from any work you carry out based on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
