Editorial policy
What we will and will not claim, where our numbers come from, how often pages change, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Every specification on this site traces to a published manufacturer or retailer listing. We do not test products and never claim to. We publish no statistic without a currently-live source, no price we did not fetch live, and no rating we did not receive from the retailer. Errors get fixed and the fix gets dated.
What we will not claim

Sourcing standards
- 1Product specifications cite the manufacturer's or retailer's own published listing — gap range, material, length, mounting method. Never a competitor's article, never memory.
- 2Every external statistic needs a currently-live source URL, verified at the time of writing. If a source 404s, the claim comes off the page rather than staying up unverifiable.
- 3Third-party claims are attributed in the sentence: "Storm Shield publishes...", not a bare assertion.
- 4Figures we cannot verify do not get repeated, however confidently a competitor states them.
- 5Where a manufacturer publishes no working range, we say so and show our reasoning from the dimensions that are published, labeled as our reasoning.
How AI is used here
AI tools are used in drafting and editing the copy on this site. Every published page is reviewed by a person before it goes live, and the specifications, gap ranges and sources in it are checked against the published listings they cite. We are saying this plainly because the alternative — a site that uses AI and implies otherwise — is the same category of claim as a fabricated testing lab, and this site is built on not making those.

Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us: info@draftanddoor.com. Include the page and what you think is incorrect. We will check it against the published source, fix it if it is wrong, and date the fix. If the correction is material — a gap range, a safety point, a recommendation that changes — it is noted on the page rather than quietly amended.
We would genuinely rather be corrected than be trusted by default. A site whose entire argument is "check our reasoning" has to mean it.
Independence
No manufacturer has paid for placement, sent us product, or reviewed our copy before publication. The site's only income is affiliate commission, disclosed in full on affiliate disclosure, and commission plays no part in the ranking method published on how we pick.
Safety content
Some of what this site covers touches on genuine safety: combustion air supply, carbon monoxide, fire-rated doors between a house and an attached garage, electrical boxes, and garage door springs. On those subjects we state the constraint before the fix, we recommend a professional where one is warranted, and we do not soften a safety point to make an article flow better.

- How do I report an error?
- Email info@draftanddoor.com with the page and what you think is wrong. We check it against the published source, fix it if it is wrong, and date the fix visibly.
- How often are the roundups updated?
- Prices refresh daily. Every roundup gets a full review in August or September before the heating season, when picks are re-checked for availability and every gap range is verified against the current manufacturer listing.
- Why does the last-updated date not change when the price does?
- Because the content did not change. Restamping every page every day would make the date meaningless, and it is one of the few honest signals a reader has about how current a page is.
