The short version

• Some links on this site are affiliate links.
• If you buy through one, we may earn a commission from the retailer.
• You pay exactly the same price either way. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet.
• It does not change what we recommend, or the order we recommend it in.
• That is the site's only source of income. There is no sponsorship, no paid placement and no advertising.

Amazon Associates

Draft & Door is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Our Associates tracking identifier is `draftanddoor-20`.

Amazon is currently the only retailer we earn from. Where we link to a manufacturer's own site — Frost King, M-D Building Products, Duck Brand — those links are references to published specifications and we earn nothing from them.

How our links work

Every product link on this site routes through our own redirect at `/go/`, which then sends you to the retailer with our tracking identifier attached. There are three reasons for that, and none of them is to hide anything:

1. 1It keeps the retailer's URL in one place in our configuration, so if a product moves we fix one entry rather than editing dozens of articles.
2. 2It lets us count buy-clicks in our own analytics, which is how we know which pages are actually useful rather than merely visited.
3. 3It means that if we ever join a different retailer's program, we can switch a product's destination without rewriting the article around it.

Every affiliate link on this site carries `rel="sponsored nofollow"` in its markup, which is how search engines are told the link is commercial. The `/go/` redirect itself is excluded from search indexing.

What commission does not do

It does not decide our rankings. The method that does is published in full on how we pick: fit for the measured gap first, then mounting suitability, then price per foot. Because that method is written down, you can check any ranking on this site against it.

Where a cheaper option is the better buy, it is ranked higher, and where we would not buy something we say so — every roundup names something we would skip and gives the reason. Those two habits are the practical test of whether a disclosure like this one means anything.

What we have not accepted

• No manufacturer has paid for placement on this site.
• No manufacturer has sent us product. We hold no free samples, because we hold no samples at all.
• No manufacturer has reviewed our copy before publication, or been given advance sight of a ranking.
• We run no display advertising and accept no sponsored posts.

All four statements are true as of the last update to this page. If any of them stops being true, this page changes first and the change is dated.

Prices

Prices shown on this site come from a live retailer data feed and carry the date they were checked. Where we have no live price, the button reads Check price and takes you to the current listing. We never type a price into an article, and no price on this site should be treated as a quote — the retailer's page at the moment of purchase is the only price that counts.
